Admissions Coordinator (Oakdale) - Part Time

Location: Oakdale, CA

Job Description

Performs registrations of Oak Valley Hospital District patients through the use of knowledge relating to the District regulations and interdepartmental functions.  Focus on registration of new and re-admissions of OVCC residents and 300 Wing Patients.  Promotes customer service through active communication, understanding the needs and concerns, and providing resolution with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity.  Initiates business office Resident Chart.  Registers and processes patient flow of Surgery and Pre-op patients.

Coordinates the Admission process for all Care Center patients.
  1. Reviews new resident inquiry form.
  2. Determines responsible party and schedules appointment to review and sign admission paperwork.
  3. Reviews financial status and discusses insurance issues.
 
  1. Coordinates the Admission process for all Surgery and pre-op patients.
 
  1. Enters census into software system, prints and submits to various departments.
 
  1. Inputs the denial letter information into the HCIS, Accu-Med.  Work with the PFS Department to assure they follow-up with the remaining portion of the process (print the information, send it to the patient for a signature, and keep a copy in the chart until the signed form comes back from the patient to replace the copy).
 
5.   Schedules accurately surgery procedures for OR, Pain Management 
      and FI Laboratory.

6.   Coordinates the OR schedules with Anesthesia Department, and
      varying equipment needs.

7.   Prepares OR schedule for distribution.
 
 


 

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
 
Minimum Experience/Skills:
Experience in health care setting preferred
Ability to operate office equipment (copy machine, fax, adding machine and computer)
Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm
Ability to word process using various software programs
Speaks, reads, and write English fluently.  Is able to record information accurately in English
Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
