The Nurse Practitioner, under physician direction is responsible for performing medical examination, diagnosis common medical conditions, managing stable phases of chronic illness, coordinating health management and assisting the clinic physician in delivering care to patients. This position may also function independently performing off-site physical examinations.
The following are general job accountabilities:
Under physician direction, provides primary care services to clinic patients including prescribing, dispensing or transmitting medications in accordance with standardized procedures and current state regulations.
Satisfactory completion of a formal Nurse Practitioner Training
Knowledge and understanding of customs and beliefs and needs of a consumer group(s) served
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience as an acute care Registered Nurse and
two (2) years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Able to record information accurately in English.
Bilingual (English/Spanish), written and verbal, preferred.
Current California Registered Nursing license and Nurse Practitioner Certificate
Masters level preferred or equivalent.
Current BLS certification
Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking
