Materials Clerk (Oakdale) - Full Time

Location: Oakdale, CA

Job Description

Performs a variety of activities related to hospital office supplies and forms maintenance: Gathers data and assists staff in achieving appropriate forms design; acts as liaison between requesting departments and printers; maintains in-house forms inventory, files and catalogs.  Fills and delivers orders as requested; maintains copy machine supplies and maintenance requisitions; assists with department clerical tasks.

  1. Fills requisitions and makes scheduled deliveries within established time-frame.
 
  1. Follows procedures for receiving and stocking supplies in the warehouse.
 
  1. Fills and delivers orders to the departments.  These are the orders that have requisitions from the departments.
 
  1. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.  Breaks down cardboard boxes and empties the garbage.
 
  1. Counts supplies in the departments and maintains par levels for each supply.
 
  1. Does patients charges in the Meditech system.
 
  1. Makes deliveries to offsite locations and utilizes safety procedures in driving the vehicle.
 
  1. Maintains a current log of items delivered to the departments that had been received in the departments from UPS, FedEx, etc.
 
  1. Assures that someone signs for delivered items in the department receiving them.
 
  1. Communicates to supervisor any current or foreseeable problems with supplies or distribution.
 
  1. Prints forms, as needed utilizing the Riso duplicator.
 
  1. Follows correct procedure in Meditech for tracking and issuing supplies.
 

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required
 
Minimum Experience/Skills:
Minimum one (1) year of clerical and printing experience
Working knowledge of forms design
Able to type 40 wpm
Able to speak, writes and reads English fluently
Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
 
Physical Demands:
Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking (up to three (3) miles a day)
Lifts, positions, pushes up to 50 pounds
Considerable sitting, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Manual dexterity and mobility
Ability to move quickly
 
Vision Requirements:
Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform duties
           
Working Conditions:
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness)
Emergency and crisis situations
Subject to irregular hours
Increased stress due to multiple calls and inquiries
Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances and biohazard material
